Trip to SakleshPura

Day 1: 16th March 2013 Saturday

This time unlike our earlier trips, we started journey early morning around 5.15am. We were 14 people and few of our friends missed at last moment.
After travelling almost for 3hrs we stopped at Kamat hotel for breakfast. Everyone had nice breakfast especially neer dosa, puri was good. Again we resumed our journey towards sakleshpura.

As journey started everyone charged up because of breakfast effect and started dancing :) worth to  mention our beloved Viveki, he was continuesly dancing :)

Finally after 6hrs of our journey(almost 225km distance from Bangalore to sakleshpur) I think around 12.15pm we reached MakkiThitta homestay(click here). Homestay is located inside the coffee estate and it was a treat for our eyes to watch such a beautiful place. We all greeted by some kind of red colored welcome drink(well i don't know the name of that drink)

Before 2pm we all finished our lunch and started exploring sakleshpur nature. Most travelers know about the Railway Trek or the Manzarabad Tipu fort in Sakleshpur. The Western ghats beyond Sakaleshpur throw up many unexplored gems. While the trek along the railway tracks is very popular, there are many more attractions amidst nature. From temples to waterfalls to green paddy fields to coffee trees to small streams, catch nature at its best. The freshness of the air, the misty hills, the aroma of coffee plantations, the gentle swaying trees, the chirping of birds,360 degrees of greenery, etc. add up to a very pleasant experience.First we decided for small trekking to hill called JenKal Gudda.

Trekking distance was around 1 or 2km. We all reached top of the hill around 4pm. Spent almost an hour for photoshoot and enjoying the beauty of the nature. If anybody wants to trek this hill, early morning before 6am would be preferable timing to enjoy the nature at its best. Even can enjoy sunrise during that time. Next to hill there is a temple called Betta Byreshware Temple. This ancient temple is said to be over 600years old.

We as earlier planned reached to Manjehalli waterfall next the hill. It was very fun moment to each one of us and enjoyed lot in playing water. Immediately rain started and it was pleasant surprise for us.

Finally we all reached to homestay at 6pm, enjoyed the evening weather with malnad coffee and mirchi bajji.

After 7.30pm fun started:
Music, fire camp, dance, friends uuufff what else we need to enjoy our life!!!!!. Everyone actively participated in the dance (special thanks to viveki, giri, prasanna for their nonstop dance show). At last everyone tired and we all enjoyed special dinner and show begins the ultimate puzzle quiz.

Well i don’t know exactly what was happening over there. However morning i came to know harish cracked a puzzle and won 500rs(harish you still owe us a little treat).

Day 2: 17th March 2013 Sunday

6.30am: Started our day with nice coffee and early morning weather was too good and motivated us to take a walk across the coffee estate. Morning walk with nice talk and super click. And also swimming in that giri size swimming pool.

After the breakfast we all started our journey towards tippu fort. Special thanks TejPal(homestay incharge) for his company and all the cooks for their hospitality. If anybody interested to visit sakleshpur I would suggest this MakkiThitta homestay for staying purpose. the location where it is located, people in the homestay, facilities they provide all are good.
Around 11.30am reached the Munzarabad Tippu fort. This fort located just outside the sakleshpur and it was build by Tippu Sultan. It is also believed that he had constructed a tunnel from this fort to another fort in Srirangapattana near Mysore. The whole fort looks like star from the top view. In the same fort the famous paravashavaadenu song from paramatma movie shoot. We enjoyed viewing the western ghats from the fort. Finally around 2pm we reached Belur.

We entered to famous, historical Sri ChannaKeshava temple. It was built by the Hoysala Empire King Vishnuvardhana. Belur, which was an early Hoysala capital is in the Hassan district of Karnataka state, India. It is 40 km from Hassan city and 220 km from Bangalore. Chennakesava ("handsome Kesava") is a form of the Hindu god Vishnu. Belur is well known for its marvelous temples built during the rule of the Hoysala dynasty, making it and nearby Halebidu favored tourist destinations in Karnataka state. These temple complexes have been proposed to be listed under UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We all took blessings of Lord Vishnu and enjoyed splendid artistic work done by many unknown people.

By evening we started journey back to Bangalore. While on the way back to Bangalore we all played dumb charades, anthyakshari. Dumb charades was too good enjoyed lot.

Conclusion:
Overall it was very good refreshment after a long time. I think this is the first trip in the year 2013.  Sakleshpur is ultimate destination for weekend trip. Two days is more than enough to cover most of the places  here.
We missed few friends this time, especially Seema. She got some health problem and we seriously don't know what she was experimenting herself as praveen said prevention is better than curing, she might have approached preventive method and that gave wrong result. Anyway that's really one sad thing to share. Most probably first time seema was missing in our trip. And we all missed you seema:( Waiting for next trip :) :)
